Many new things are present in this handset which had circulated the rumors finally came true. For example, Curve 8520, BlackBerry is the first product that uses an optical trackpad as a navigation tool to replace the trackball.

In addition, Curve 8520, became the first product equipped blackberry media keys on top so that access music and video, such as play, repeat, and mute can be done more easily. There’s also a BlackBerry Media Sync that allows synchronization with iTunes or Windows Media Player. There was also a BlackBerry application App World is an exchange application for BlackBerry.

At first glance looks not much different from its predecessor, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin) with a QWERTY keyboard. However, there is little reduction in the Curve 8520 as only a 2 megapixel camera, 3.2 megapixels while the Javelin.
